If you are wanting to plant some things in the classroom here are some tips:
1. If you don't have pots, re-use! Mugs and old cans make great pots!
2. Label - students tend to forget what they planted - label their plants with their name and the name of the plant.
3. If you don't have a garden to plant things in - make the plant a gift!
4. Plant after march break so you don't have to come in to water the plants during the break!
5. Fundraise to get the money for your materials. All you need is pots, seeds and soil!
6. Have a garden club! There are going to be some jobs that come up that don't include the whole class, having a couple of students help you at recess can be super helpful. Make these little tags to make students proud but also so other teachers see that they have permission to be in the garden!
7. Plant flowers for early spring. The early days of spring are still pretty grey and not much is growing, plant some bulbs that will come up and motivate students!
